Elisha and the Restored Apostolic Church-OT Study Part 2

We had a very blessed time in the Word tonight! Recapping 14 notable miracles performed by Elisha!

1. Elisha heals the waters 2 Kings 2:19-22

2. The miracle of reverence through Judgment 2 Kings 2:23-25

3.Elisha blesses a backslidden nation 2 Kings Chapter 3

4. Elisha's oil meets the needs of the ministry 2 Kings 4:1-7

5. Elisha restores life to the great woman 2 Kings 4:8-37

6.Elisha heals the poisonous pottage 2 Kings 4:38-41

7.The miracle of cleansing by perfect baptism 2 Kings Chapter 5

8.The axe did swim 2 Kings 6:1-7

9. Elisha prevents disaster by wisdom and knowledge 2 Kings 6:8-12

10. Elisha meets terrific opposition in the power of the Spirit 2 Kings 6:13-17

11. Elisha overcomes evil with good 2 Kings 6:18-23

12. Elisha breaks an impossible situation by the word of Prophecy 2 Kings 6:24-33

13.Judgment on Jezebel, spoken by Elijah, but fulfilled under Elisha 2 Kings 9:30-37

14.Elisha's death brings judgment upon God's enemies and his bones are charged with resurrection power

Can you see a type and shadow of the end times church body? God has it in His heart to restore the apostolic church in all its pristine purity and power in these last days! Elisha's call to inherit and perpetuate Elijah's ministry was predicted upon his "obeying" certain conditions, and by the same token if the church body today then we must fulfill certain vital conditions:

ELISHA had to follow and visit these place that Elijah took him:

1.GILGAL- the place of separation Joshua 5:1-10 from all that is worldly(exemplified in the OT of Egypt)

2.BETHEL- A spiritual conception of the house of God

Genesis 28:16-22 Jacob was not in a temple/cathedral /synagogue/tabernacle or church building! He was out there under heaven and yet proclaims "This is the house of God" In other words Jacob received a spiritual vision of the house of God. The Almighty dwells not in temples made with hands...God had a temple for His people but under Christ , He has a people for His Temple. Corinthians 12:13 "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body" Hebrew 3:6

3.JERICHO- the headship/lordship of Jesus the Christ Joshua 5:13-51

At Jericho Joshua received a revelation of the captaincy or headship of Christ...Joshua was not the real captain of Israel's armies. Jehovah is the true captain of His people. Jesus is our chief shepard.and we are taking care of the flock on His behalf. I Peter 5:3/ Matthew 20:25-28

We seek to serve Jesus and Jesus alone must be head over all Ephesians1:22-23 / Ephesians 4:11/ acts 13:1-4

4.JORDAN- back to Pentecost Joshua Chapters 3-4

Jordan was the supernatural doorway into the land Canaan for the children of Israel. Elisha had to go back to that same river and witness it being supernaturally parted as it is smitten by Elijah's cloak- He was being taught to go back to supernatural beginnings. If you want to get into the realm that the original apostles and the early church enjoyed then you will have to go about things the way they went about things! We must go to Jordan and learn the lesson and importance of supernatural beginnings ...back to Pentecost (birth of the church) .

Elisha must eye-witness Elijah's going up

Elijah tells Elisha "If thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee.(double portion anointing) But if not , it shall not be so" In other words, Elisha would not receive the double portion of Elijah's spirit unless he kept very close to Elijah...so close indeed that he would see him when he was translated. The lesson here is to all that seek to see the church restored is - keep close to the early apostles and the only way we can do this is through the scriptures. Let us read over and over the book of Acts and the Epistles. And whatever they did in their day, let us do in ours, and whatever they refused , let us refuse it also. The Bible is all that we need to thoroughly furnish us unto all good works...back to the Bible
