Adam and Eve- The Beginning of Civilization
begat:

CAIN- Tiller of the ground- murdered ABEL (his brother)
Cain's wife begat ENOCH who begat Irad who begat Mehujael who begat Methusael who begat LAMECH (also killed someone). LAMECH had 2 wives (Bigamy began)

ABEL- keeper of sheep/ He was murdered by his brother CAIN

Adam was 130 years old when he begat:

SETH- who begat ENOS (then began men to call upon the name of the LORD) 
ENOS begat CAINAN who begat Mahalaleel who begat Jared who begat ENOCH who begat Methuselah.
ENOCH walked with GOD... (Enoch did not taste death. GOD took him up to be with Him!)
ENOCH begat LAMECH who begat NOAH.

Genesis 5:49(Lamech saying) " This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed."

NOAH- means REST or COMFORT
CAIN- means SPEAR
SETH- means ANOINTED ONE

NOAH begat SHEM, HAM and JAPHETH

SHEM-(Jews-Semites)-ARPHAX'AD(2 yrs after the flood)-SALAH-EBER-PELEG-REU-SERUG-NAHOR-TERAH-(ABRAM, NAHOR, HARAN)

ABRAM- married SARAI-had ISAAC at 90yrs old
             -HAGAR(Sarai's maid)- had ISHMAEL(Arab nation)(born to ABRAM before ISAAC because of disobedience against God's promise of a son(ISAAC)(a nation) GENESIS 17:21- to be born of SARAI- They did not wait upon the Lord's promise but in their own power tried to fulfill His promise to them through the handmaid HAGAR

ISAAC- married REBEKAH-had JACOB(ISRAEL-ISRAELITES) and ESAU(EDOMITES)
